Roberta Bridda born in Belluno (Italy) in 1975. She lives and works as a freelance in Barcelona (Spain) since 2003. She graduated in Architecture from IUAV in Venice. At the same time, she started studying bookbinding, engraving and illustration by attending courses and workshops in Italy and abroad.
Since 2005 she’s been working like freelance illustrator and teacher of art and bookbinding (Escola Massana, La Industrial, Rosa Sensat, Centro Cívico Cotxeres, La Casa Elizalde, Escola d’Art Pau Gargallo and others).
She organized workshops, expositions and courses of illustrated and handmade artist’s books.
She’s been publishing children’s illustrated books in Spain for Cruïlla, SM, Bromera, Anaya, Cadí, Planeta, Tramuntana) and little handmade editions (Doublebrain Editions).
Since 2015, she has been teaching “Visual and Plastic Education” at UB (Universitat de Barcelona, Facultat d’Educació Infantil i Primària).
During the last few years, as part of her personal and academic artistic research, she has dedicated herself to the handmade creation and research of tactile illustrated books, with a particular interest in inclusivity education. She is a PhD student with a thesis in Educational innovation and intervention at UVIC (Universitat d’Educació de Vic) titled Illustrated tactile books: topics, formats and didactic practices.
